Meet some of The Team

WBro DAVID bUNTING
Having always enjoyed ‘Team Sports’, Masonry seemed a large team all pulling in one direction and helping each other.
A sense of ‘belonging’ and the charitable work makes such a difference. Rainham being such a sociable Lodge too, holding very many functions and get togethers outside of the lodge is like an extended family

WBro PETER ADAMS
I was so intrigued to know what encouraged some good people I worked with to join the fraternity. I was also looking for the opportunity to engage in some additional charity work.
Stayed because the companionship, shared interests and the multiple close friendships that have resulted in being a member.

WBro jACK MELEADY
In the picture my partner and I had been hiking through the Forest of Dean, on a holiday packed with adventures! I originally joined Freemasonry because my father, brother, uncle and grandfather were all masons, and I had enjoyed all the charity events, such as Ladies Nights and lodge BBQs.I love everything about Freemasonry and don't regret a thing. Never have I found a hobby, and group of people, whose morals and outlook align so much with my own, than those in Freemasonry. I have gained great skills I would have otherwise never have gained, such as public speaking, and through masonry I have discovered my love for ritual and the history & lectures that can be found through Craft, Chapter and Mark

Retired but still with a passion to cook and create
I joined because I knew Rainham Lodge freemasons did much charitable work in the local community as well as the larger charities.
Stayed because: In my darkest times, the brethren of Rainham Lodge have supported and assisted, now that’s fraternity, friendship, that’s Freemasonry

Bro Ferdin napoleon
I am a passionate mechanical engineer using modern digital tools and methods to design and maintain the glorious underground trains of London. That’s me in the picture, wearing traditional “LUNGI” and posing with my first motorcycle, The Royal Enfield Classic 350.
I joined because I heard about the excellent charity works Rainham has been doing through my friend Anil, who referred me.
I stay because the Gentlemen of Rainham 3079 are such excellent company.

During lockdown, with funds not coming in, I decided to cut all my hair off and wear Rainham 3079 proudly to raise funds!
I joined because: Of the mystique of it all just gripped me.
I stayed because: It's one of the best things I have done in my life. Coming through the journey of Freemasonry has changed my life and changed me for the better.

Bro Trevor taylor
Enjoying life playing golf
Joined to help others knowing Rainham was very charitable. Stayed because the companionship and support from the team is 2nd to none and a very sociable Lodge with annual BBQ, quiz, dances, ladies weekends, Xmas and summer suppers, breakfast club and just so much more..so friendly.

Reliving my youth lol
In my twentys & on obtaining promotion at work I was physically sick at the thought of having to give presentations, It was either the local theatre company or masons suggested, my proposer saying he’d have me up, confident and singing in front of a crowd.
Stayed because: I found I quite like singing, now I know how.

WBro mathew meleady
I love to travel in the picture I had just hiked through a national park in Canada to the east coast.
I joined Freemasonry as my father and his father before him because I wanted to know what all the fuss and secrecy was about.
I stayed because of the fantastic people I've met, who through mutual support practicing ritual have been instrumental in helping me overcome my low self esteem.

WBro len oakley

Joined later in life after visiting Bletchley Park and seeing Churchills regalia.
Stayed with Rainham lodge being closer than London and for the companionship as well as the excellent charity of the Lodge

Ahoy there shipmates! Myself and my partner Jo!
I joined freemasonry in 1980, after having attended several social functions and discovering how friendly everyone was.
I have made many good friends in freemasonry and have enjoyed being involved in the meetings and raising money for good causes.

WBro Stuart Marsh
I Joined Rainham after attending their functions over many years. I felt it was time to join Rainham and give myself something keep my brain active. Having now been a member for more than two decades I still remain active helping newer members particularly with their learning at lodge of instruction.

WBro Agha Hassan
Friends said it might be fun to join, And it was! And is!

Bro Omar Hassain
I really enjoy my profession being a Dental surgeon and helping people in the health care sector.
My father introduced me into his lodge in Kent and when I moved to Essex, I joined the Rainham Lodge 3079 to help me settle in the local area.
I was welcomed with open arms and felt straight away part of a large extended family.
The members do so much charity work for great causes and organise multiple social events where our families can meet up and support each other.
We are all here to help and support one another in difficult and good times and I thoroughly enjoy meeting likeminded, upstanding and genuine people that membership to the lodge brings. I really enjoy travelling abroad and through freemasonry it is easy and possible to attend other lodges and meet fellow masons all over the world!!

WBro Malcolm Tidbury
My father in law was a Rainham member so I attended functions. Joined in 1981 impressed at their charity work and friendliness of lodge and their families.
Why do I stay?
I enjoy the camaraderie, visiting many lodges extending the hand of friendship even further.

Bro Terry Hurley
After moving into the area and meeting such nice members of Rainham lodge and attending a couple of their meetings I was so impressed with the work in the lodge and the festive board.
It was so friendly and welcoming it was like when he first joined FM in 1978
Being a member of a London Lodge I found the travelling to London too much. Also being a London lodge, members came from everywhere so it was not a close knit lodge as Rainham where everyone supports each other.
Furthermore, the variety of social events where Sandra (my partner) is invited to socials throughout the year made a brilliant change.

WBro Tony Adams
I loved the mystery of it all, the history and the social side. As an entertainer the mixture of social and history is compelling.
