Rainham supporting Thurrock Food Bank

Within Rainham Lodge 3079, WBro Ernie Adams and his wife Janice regularly help at Thurrock foodbank. Rainham Lodge decided to support the food bank & Bro Ernies efforts at this time with prices in general esculating, their usual donation was needed more than ever and urgent, so offered a most generous donation and the Lodge charity steward requested Province to match fund and contacted WBro Chris Hicks who was agreeable that Thurrock foodbank could and would be one of the 15 chosen foodbanks to be match funded, so mid December 2022 our Charity steward visited Thurrock foodbank on behalf of Bro Ernie and all Rainham members to deliver a cheque from all the Rainham Lodge members. Congratulations Rainham members on this quick initiative and delivery, which went directly to help restock shelves and help with Thurrock Foodbank’s provision of Food parcels to those most in need across Thurrock.

As a charity they get no support from Governmental bodies so are totally reliant on donations and support from individuals like Bro Ernie & Janice, groups, churches, businesses and organisations like ours to feed 6,480 people, across Thurrock, 2,916 of which are children, a 24% increase on the same period last year.
